We had the opportunity to have a half day off for the pre-wedding shot at the Kirknewton House Stables in West Lothian. We took a full advantage of the beautiful summer afternoon, both Alison and David looked amazing, they make such a beautiful couple and we wish them so much happiness for the future.

Judith & Neil | WEDDING AT the Barclay Viewforth Church & Prestonfield House Hotel, EDINBURGH

Fri Nov 2012 PHOTOBYMOON in Weddings no comments

We were at the Prestonfield House Hotel in early September for the beautiful wedding of Judith and Neil.
Judith and the bridal party had their wedding preparations together at the Prestonfield House Hotel, a beautiful and charming boutique hotel setting on the outskirts of the Edinburgh city .

Judith and Neil looked fabulous and I really can’t say it enough how lovely they are, really friendly and down to earth, it was an absolute pleasure to be asked to take their wedding photos. Both the church at Barclay Viewforth and the Prestonfield House Hotel looked fantastic, luckily the weather stayed dry and we even managed to get some lovely sunshine!

Thank you Judith and Neil again for letting us be part of your special day, we wish them all the best for the future.

I was delighted to be a part of Darren and Richard’s civil partnership wedding in Edinburgh. It was a beautiful day, which was a bonus for their guests who were mostly from England.

The civil partnership ceremony was held in the beautiful ‘Cullen Room’ at the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh, a wonderful and historical building that both Darren and Richard had shared their memories together. The reception was held in the ‘Vincaffe’ in St. Andrew Square.

I’m sure that all the guests had a great time and the magnificent weather made it a special day in Edinburgh.
Thank you Darren and Richard for choosing us for their big day, we wish you all the best and happiness in the future !

More news about exhibitions

Sun Sep 2012 PHOTOBYMOON in News no comments

We had a busy summer with many weddings and also my personal art project to fit in.
It’s been a good year for my fine art work with a few exhibitions and good publicity.
I also had a few opportunities to exhibit my current photographic projects but this time in Edinburgh.

In July I participated in a group show ‘kompas: an exhibition exploring visual research’ alongside my Ph.D. colleagues at the ECA, University of Edinburgh. In August, I had a group show that was dedicated to portrait photography with my fellow photographers Sylwia Kowalczyk, Simon Crofts and Claudine Quinn in the Coburg House Gallery.

We had brilliant feedback and many visitors to our show.
Also Charles Guice an American contemporary art critique published a great article for the show.

Recently I was involved in the new Edinburgh art collective’s show launching at the Old Ambulance Depot.

Currently I am working as an associated artist, collaborating with one of the University of Edinburgh’s departments, the Centre for Research on Family and Relationships (CRFR). The project is planned to last 15 months and hopefully we can arrange an exhibition by autumn in 2013 in Edinburgh!

Busy spring with fine art exhibitions

Sun May 2012 PHOTOBYMOON in News no comments

It’s been a very busy spring for me, not only weddings but also with my fine art photography.
One of my previous works was selected in an exhibition that celebrates the International women’s day
‘Goddess; I Am Woman’ and was exhibited at the Scottish Storytelling Centre in early spring.

I also travelled to London twice to participate in a fine art group show with my new body of work.
My recent show which started on Friday has a spectacular view of the new Olympic stadium in East London.
The exhibition will continue until the 3rd of June.

I was also interviewed by ‘Fuxi’, one of London’s contemporary art and cultural flow magazines.

It’s really lovely to be part of the show in a such a privileged space.
Here you will find more details about the exhibiton:

Lucy & John | Wedding at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Edinburgh

Fri Jul 2011 PHOTOBYMOON in Weddings no comments

We attended a lovely wedding to photograph Lucy and John who got married at the Royal Botanic Gardens in Edinburgh. As we expected the weather was so unpredictable as it was a typical Scottish summer but we always enjoy something extra exciting and love these challenges.

They had a glorious garden ceremony at the John Muir Grove followed by Caledonian Hall for the wedding breakfast. Their evening reception was held at the John Hope Gateway. We had a nice photography session all the way through the day. I was even getting photographed by one of their guests  (Really love to see that photo!)

Lucy and John were such a sweet couple and they looked fantastic on their wedding day, I am sure they are having a great time on their honeymoon in Mexico! Can’t wait to show them all the photographs and plan together for their wedding album creation!

Exhibition 4482 [sasapari] Rhizosphere in London

4482 [sasapari] Rhizosphere, the 4th Korean Contemporary Artists in London

Thu 24 Feb to Sun 27 Feb
Bargehouse, Oxo Tower Wharf, South Bank London SE1 9PH

I recently travelled down to London, participating in a group exhibition ‘4482 [sasapari]’ with one of my portrait photographs from my photo series ‘Women in Modern Societies’.

The 4th 4482 [sasapari] exhibition represents the largest ever showcase for Korean contemporary artists living and working in the U.K. This year, entitled ‘Rhizosphere: Directions in Motion’, it presents the latest work from 60 artists at the Bargehouse, Oxo Tower Wharf, a cavernous 4-storey building located in London’s South Bank cultural quarter by the River Thames.

A ‘Rhizome’ is a subterranean stem spreading out in any direction. It is a system of connections with no hierarchy and no order. The title; ‘Rhizo + Sphere’ refers to both the space and time of the exhibition, reflecting 4482’s nature as a continually evolving voluntary group of artists with works covering a wide variety of themes, ways of expression and mediums.

Since 2007, 4482 [sasapari] has continued to highlight and document the works of an increasing number of South Korean artists in London. All participants created their works in Britain with Korean emotion and artistic talent. It aims to represent the cross-cultural dialogue in which the artists are inevitably engaged and is mirrored in the group’s name, 4482 (pronounced sasapari in Korean), a combination of the Korean and UK international dialling codes.

Carole-Anne & Michael | Wedding at the Scotsman Hotel

Tue Jan 2011 PHOTOBYMOON in Weddings no comments

Here is our last wedding of 2010, Carole-Anne and Michael’s amazing wedding at the Scotsman Hotel in the city
of Edinburgh. This fantastic 5 star hotel is in the former offices of the Scotsman newspaper and they have done
a marvelous job of preserving the heritage while creating a luxury hotel.

They managed to retain many of the traditional features and this adds to the originality and quirkiness of their
rooms and suites. This definitely suits Carole-Anne and Michael’s tastes and Carole-Anne also wins this year’s
most stylish bride. She looked absolutely stunning in her beautiful dress designed by Alfred Angelo, alongside her
natural make-up and hair… spotless! The lucky groom Michael was looking dandy in his immaculate suit!

We’d like to thank them again for choosing us for their wedding photography and we can’t wait to give them
our beautiful wedding album!

Recently we photographed Kinshan & Roland’s Engagement party at the Edinburgh Balmoral Hotel.
We were so pleased with the weather, it was just fantastic for the big day!

Kishan looked amazing in her ivory dress and in her red shoes, Roland also looked fabulous
in his suit and of course the red tie! All the decorations were so festive but I must say the highlight
was the gorgeous cake which was beautifully crafted by Roland’s mum.
Very striking and stylish. (Can’t wait to see her next cake)

The couple were so natural in front of my camera especially Kishan, she was very photogenic.
Big congratulations on their engagement and we really look forward to taking more photos
on your wedding at the Glasgow University Chapel followed by Cameron House, Loch Lomond in May 2011!
